What

Follow-up to #7741, applying what a fresh verification sweep (2026-09-23) against the live sources confirmed:

  • gpt-6-astra joins codex's ultra effort allowlist. Astra has now rolled out to a real account's live catalog (codex app-server → model/list, codex 0.154.0) and reports low…max + ultra. Ultra was deliberately left off at launch pending exactly this check.
  • GPT-6 Astra/Sol/Luna added to the opencode picker (openai/gpt-6-*) — models.dev, opencode's catalog, now lists all three; its missing entries were the blocker at launch.
  • GPT-6 Astra/Sol/Luna added to the OMP picker (openai-codex/gpt-6-*) — present in pi-catalog 18.2.11.
  • gpt-5.4 and gpt-5.3-codex removed from the codex picker and the chat catalog (second commit). They retired 2026-08-31 and no longer appear in the live catalog, so picking them hands codex an unknown id.
  • gpt-5.5 moves to a "Retiring 2026-10-14" group — the live catalog now carries that retirement timestamp (upgradeInfo.retirementAt = 1792004400).

Not changed

  • cursor-agent and copilot entries: their catalogs need a login to verify, so their GPT-6 ids stay out per the standing rule.
  • Pricing: gpt-6-* rows already exist; retired ids keep their rows for usage history.
  • pi-catalog lists a codename gpt-daybreak-blue-latest under openai-codex — absent from the live Codex catalog and models.dev, so watch-only for now.

Validation

bun test src/agent-models.test.ts (60 pass), tsc --noEmit and biome check on the touched files, all clean.

Summary by cubic

Syncs the agent model catalogs with OpenAI's live GPT-6 rollout, confirmed against the live Codex catalog, models.dev, and pi-catalog on 2026-09-23.

  • Adds GPT-6 Astra, Sol, and Luna to the opencode and OMP pickers.
  • Enables the ultra effort for gpt-6-astra in Codex.
  • Removes gpt-5.4 and gpt-5.3-codex from the chat catalog and pickers; both retired 2026-08-31 and picking them hands Codex an unknown id.
  • Moves gpt-5.5 to a "Retiring 2026-10-14" group per the live catalog's retirement timestamp.
  • Cursor-agent and copilot entries stay unchanged; their catalogs require a login to verify.
