Chief: a first-run Bring your history screen
Leo (2026-11-02): "we should do that, and have flows for dudes coming from grokbot/muse/dot/instinct", then "let's do all these" (a first-run "bring your history" screen among them).
A first-run Bring your history page (the importData onboarding step; also Settings and the command palette). One screen, one step: detected sources (Claude Code, Codex, Claude memory) pre-checked; ChatGPT and Claude export zips picked on click (never scanned at launch, per #28882); Grok Bot, Muse, ChatGPT Dots and Instinct rows offer a one-tap prompt to copy into that assistant and a paste box, imported through the text: source from #33143. One Import button runs dry-run counts then write, with progress per row, Undo and Skip.
Logic is TypeScript (webviews/src/pages/import-history/); Swift only hosts and forwards to chief.importMemories. Gallery variants in ImportHistory.gallery.tsx.
Stacked on #33143.

Summary by cubic
Adds a first-run “Bring your history” screen for importing memories from other assistants into the Chief, replacing the “Import Memories” flow.
- Detects Claude Code, Codex, and Claude memories; ChatGPT and Claude export files are chosen explicitly and never scanned at launch.
- Offers copy-and-paste prompts for Grok Bot, Muse, ChatGPT Dots, and Instinct, with a summary editor revealed when a source is selected; pasted summaries route through the page bridge with their source metadata.
- Imports selected sources in one run with dry-run counts, per-source progress, Undo, and Skip; detection completes before import starts. Also available from Settings > Home and the command palette.
- Keeps the first-run offer pending if the screen fails to appear; existing installs go straight to the main window.
- Shares the native import flow with app bindings; the standalone browser importer remains available.
