Transcript: reply footer icons at Claude's size (16 in 28) and muted at rest
Leo, 2026-11-02, with a screenshot of the copy / fork / read aloud / more icons under a reply in the agent transcript:
WHY ARE THESE SO BIG
and right after:
AND THEY'RE REDUCED OPACITY A BIT TOO
leo-named-fix: an obvious fix to a size Leo called out, so it lands as soon as its pushed head gets an independent review (lanes can't add the label themselves).
What changes (reply footer only, conversation.css):
- The footer's buttons go from ChatGPT's 32 around a 20 glyph (#31690) to Claude's 28 around a 16 glyph (grid tokens
transcript-action-controlandtranscript-icon-box), still touching, with a 7 radius. The first glyph's ink stays on the prose's left edge (--cv-footer-overhangis now 6). - The footer line keeps its 32 slot (
--cv-footer-row=transcript-footer-control), so row estimates, the 8 gap under the reply and the live line's in-place swap don't change. The 28 buttons sit centred in it. - At rest the icons use a muted footer ink,
--cv-footer-ink(72% of--cv-text-muted). They switch to full ink on hover, while their menu is open, and while reading aloud. Continue keeps its label colour. - The empty footer's compact hover controls, prompt rows and other hover actions are unchanged.
Reading of the second message: on base the icons were drawn in --cv-text-muted (58% ink), which is already dimmed, so "reduced opacity a bit too" could also mean he dislikes the dimming. This PR builds the brief's reading, a further step down at rest with full ink on hover. If he meant the opposite, it's a one-token revert (--cv-footer-ink).
Gallery: agent-pane.transcript-row-alignment / finished (rest), plus the new finished-button-hover (the pointer on Copy).
Tests updated to the new box: gridScenes (the action control is transcript-action-control), transcript-rhythm (glyph top is 8 + 8 under the reply), and agent-pane-working-counts (the live line's box is --cv-footer-row).
Design spec: leo-workspace design/transcript-spacing.md "Reply footer", updated in a companion docs PR.
