Subagent rows: no fork glyph, no tokens or tool uses

Leo's words (2026-10-31)

  • "why didn't you guys remove the icons nor the tokens", on a subagent row with a chat bubble, a fork glyph before the title, and a second line "107.5K tokens · 211 tool uses".
  • Then: "the leading icons — just the stupid fork one".
  • His earlier ask in the same thread: "3. we can remove the symbols and the tokens and the bash probably just make it look nice like claude code 4. and of course align this right side's chevrons..."
  • On alignment: "nor align", and "even the alignment on this i said so many times "this will be fixed right????"".

What changed

  • Fork glyph removed. The running tray's subagent lines and started-chat lines no longer draw agent.fork before the title. The kind word ("Subagent") isn't drawn either, so nothing takes the glyph's place. The leading harness mark or toned icon stays, as Leo asked.
  • Tokens and tool uses removed from the rows. subagentProgress takes { usage: false }. The tray's lines and the transcript's open subagent group (SubagentListRow) use it, so a row reads as its title and state, like Claude Code. A workflow's agent counts, failures and queue still show. The Inspector's Subagents list and its Context still show tokens and tool uses.

Nothing else is removed: rows, expand/open, Stop, the spinner, and the command lines ("Command" word, terminal icon) are unchanged.

Alignment (B)

#29264 (merged as 6e01daaf, after Leo's nightly) already gives the header's chevron, every line's chevron and View all's chevron one trailing column. Each Stop now sits inside its line, between the state and the chevron, and the header's time follows its counts instead of floating in a column of its own. test/subagent-tray-trailing.test.ts measures all of this in Chromium at 760 and 300px, light and dark. This PR re-runs that test on top of its change and doesn't touch the tray's tracks.

Overlap

#29276 (open, agent pane: one subagent row anatomy) makes the fork the subagent line's one glyph and keeps tokens as trailing meta. Leo's words above reverse both, so #29276 needs to drop the fork and the tokens when it rebases on this.

Tests

  • test/subagent-tray.test.tsx: a subagent line has no kind word or fork glyph. The tray's progress line has counts and no tokens, and the Inspector's still has tokens.
  • test/subagent-progress.test.tsx: the transcript group's rows have no tokens or tool uses.

Risk: low. Display-only removals in two row components and one helper flag.

Summary by cubic

Subagent rows in the running tray and the transcript no longer draw the fork glyph or show token counts and tool uses, per Leo's 2026-10-31 feedback.

  • Tray subagent and started-chat lines drop the agent.fork glyph and "Subagent" kind word; the harness mark or toned icon stays.
  • Tray rows and transcript subagent groups now show only the state and workflow agent counts, not tokens or tool uses.
  • subagentProgress gains a usage: false option to omit that data where rows should read like Claude Code.
  • The Inspector's Subagents list and its Context still show tokens and tool uses.
  • The tray gallery's workflow-progress snapshot now uses large agent counts so the row still wraps without token text.
