What broke

Leo, on the Home run card: "whats the $ supposed to be? we're all using subrouter2 anyways :x"

Every finished Chief run on Home showed a bare dollar amount ("Worked for 3m · 4 steps · $0.04"). That number is Claude Code's total_cost_usd, meaning what the turn's tokens would cost at pay-per-token API prices. Claude Code reports it even on a subscription account or through subrouter2, where nobody pays it, and nothing said what it was.

The fix

  • Run card (the one-line row under a Chief reply): shows the run's tokens instead of the dollar figure ("4 steps · 49k tokens"). Tokens are true on any account type.
  • Run sheet (Open): keeps the figure, labelled "$0.04 at API prices", with a tooltip: "What these tokens would cost at pay-per-token API prices. A subscription doesn't bill this; it counts against the plan's usage limits."
  • Two new strings in the home-channels catalog, with all 21 of its locales.

The app has no reliable signal for the account type: Claude Code reports the same total_cost_usd for API keys, subscriptions and routers. So the card drops the dollar figure everywhere instead of guessing, and the labelled number stays one click away. No setting was added: this isn't a behavior toggle, and showing an unlabelled dollar figure is never the right default. No default changed.

Test

webviews/test/home-run-cost.test.tsx renders a run with costUsd: 0.0421:

  • the card's metas are exactly the step count and "49k tokens", and the card has no $;
  • the sheet's cost reads run.cost ("$0.04 at API prices") with the run.cost.hint tooltip.

Fleet evidence (red on a test-only commit, green at the head) is in the comments below. The gallery fixtures run, run-open, narrow-run-card and narrow-run-card-480 cover the changed surfaces; their notes are updated.

Summary by cubic

Replaces the unexplained dollar figure on the Home run card with the run's token count, and labels the run sheet's dollar figure as API prices.

  • The dollar figure is Claude Code's pay-per-token API price estimate, which nobody pays on a subscription or through a router.
  • The run sheet now shows "$0.04 at API prices" with a tooltip explaining that a subscription counts it against usage limits instead of billing it.
  • The app has no reliable signal for account type, so the card drops the dollar figure everywhere rather than guessing.
  • Adds the run.cost and run.cost.hint strings to the home-channels catalog across all 21 locales.
