fix(email): copy pass on billing and lifecycle emails
What & why
Copy pass after a review of every automated email:
-
Billing emails: removed em dashes from member added, member removed, renewal upcoming and subscription cancelled.
-
Member removed: the sentence said "with -$8.20 credited". It now reads "minus a credit of $8.20".
-
Day-1 "Your first agent, safely": it goes to people who never opened the app, but the download button came last. The button now comes first, and the safety points are shorter and moved below it.
-
Pro cancellation feedback: this email only existed in Resend, still said Superset, and asked four questions. It's now in the repo (
billing/pro-cancellation-feedback.tsx): 35 words and one question. -
Headings: removed the large heading from every user-facing email, since each one repeated the subject.
-
Wording: a please on support asks, shorter access line in subscription cancelled, shorter download-link intro, "If this was a mistake" in member removed.
The day-7 founder note is in #9057.
After merge: the Resend templates (activation-00-welcome, activation-01-first-agent, activation-01b-first-prompt, activation-02-founder-note, pro-cancellation-feedback) must be re-published. Live versions still say "Superset" even though the repo was renamed in #8967.
How I tested it
- Rendered each changed email to plain text and read the output.
bun run typecheckandbun testinpackages/emailpass;biome check packages/email/srcis clean.

Summary by cubic
Copy pass on billing, lifecycle, and team emails to fix confusing wording and add the Pro cancellation feedback email to the repo.
- Removes the large heading from every user-facing email since each repeated the subject.
- Removes em dashes from billing emails and fixes member-removed copy to show "minus a credit of $8.20" instead of "with -$8.20 credited".
- Reworks the day-1 email so the download button comes first, the safety points are shorter, and it no longer claims everything runs locally since cloud workspaces exist; redesigns the welcome email to teach parallel workspaces since most people sign up from inside the app.
- Updates the first-prompt email so the suggested prompt has the agent split three fixes across separate workspaces and publish a page of results, showing what Paradev does beyond a single agent.
- Adjusts the download email to address Linux users with "computer" wording and tightens copy across support asks, download links, and subscription emails.
- Adds
pro-cancellation-feedback.tsx— the email only existed in Resend, still said "Superset", and asked four questions. It's now a 35-word single-question email.
Migration
- Re-publish the Resend templates (
activation-00-welcome,activation-01-first-agent,activation-01b-first-prompt,activation-02-founder-note,pro-cancellation-feedback) after merge; live versions still say "Superset".
