Description

Removes the obsolete wwwroot/README.md generated by the ASP.NET Core server generator.

The file contains severely outdated information about the unreleased “ASP.NET 5 Preview,” including references to Bower, Gulp, project.json, and Visual Studio 2015. Microsoft renamed ASP.NET 5 to ASP.NET Core 1.0 before its general release:

Changes

  • Removed wwwroot/README.md from the ASP.NET Core supporting files.
  • Deleted the obsolete template copies.
  • Removed the file from generated ASP.NET Core samples.
  • Added a test confirming the README is not registered as a supporting file while other wwwroot assets remain registered.

Note

Although the diff has a relatively large file count, it does not represent a broad functional change. The same static README was duplicated across generator templates and committed samples. It has no build or runtime role, and the remaining changes update generated-file manifests to reflect its removal. Generated ASP.NET Core server behavior is unchanged.
